The Sky's Wine Red

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If you don't happen to know, the title of this picture is a paraody (if that's the right word) on a verse of the song Wine Red by The Hush Sound, who I saw in a concert last week. This is just an old photo taken on this year's Chinese New Year.

United We Sit

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I know, the color's gross. Although most of the people visit the temple are Chinese, you can't forget that they all came to/live in America for a reason, whether it was for democracy, the nice Californian weather, etc.

The Gentle Dragon

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Just when I thought I didn't take any pictures of the lion dance that were worth posting on my blog because I sat so far away from the performers, I get near the "lions" AFTER the dance and wait for SOMETHING to happen. I saw how little kids were petting the lions and waited for the lion to be in a good position where I could capture its bright features and a cute kid to come up and pet it. This is the one. Happy last day of the Chinese New Year celebration!

*For the first time in my life, I am hoping for rain. You MIGHT see why later this week.

Together In Peace

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I really like this photo. I tried to look for something...I guess beautiful and pleasant looking to photograph. I just saw the lanterns and took one random picture, not even steadying the camera. I notice I say "I" a lot in my blogs. How conceited of me.

Last Year's New Year

P1290008

Happy New Year! So I don't know why Blogger is being a little evil. It doesn't allow me to add pictures using the dimensions that I put. I think it's working now, though. I took this photo last year at the Hsi Lai Temple during Chinese New Year.

Hide and Seek

It kind of looks like the painting. The camera was under the night setting. Since pictures seem to turn out blurry when taken in the dark, this photo came out looking...odd but I like it. You can see the moon peeking out. This was taken during the Mid-Autumn Festival (watching for the full moon to come out).

*My sky pictures aren't that impressive-looking.

A New Breeze Blows

This was taken last year on my sixteenth birthday (9-23-2006). It's a picture of this Chinese shrine or whatever they call it. My parents always set it up every occasion and my family prays in front of it. There was a cool and calm breeze that made the incense's smoke blow in such a pretty way. I had to take a picture of it.

About Me

My photo
College student/ Beatles enthusiast in San Diego who was raised by a low income, super Asian family in Los Angeles suburbia. I reach for the stars (those Loubs on the top shelf) and crash back down to Earth. It's hard being money conscious and fashion obsessed at the same time.
